Frequently Asked Questions
Who This Is For

Is this coaching only for people with prosthetic legs or amputations?
No. While I specialize in working with adaptive athletes (especially lower-limb differences and prosthetics), I also coach able-bodied clients. My approach prioritizes individual limitations, movement quality, and long-term progress whether you have a prosthetic or not.

Do I need prior lifting experience?
No. I work with complete beginners as well as experienced lifters who need programming that accounts for their specific situation. The Free Assessment helps me understand exactly where you’re starting from.

What if my impairment or prosthetic setup is different from yours?
That’s expected. Every adaptive athlete is unique. I don’t force a one-size-fits-all template. Programming is built around your anatomy, prosthetic, residual limb, mobility, and goals.

How Coaching Works

Is this online or in-person?
Currently itis online only. You get customized programming, form video feedback, and ongoing communication. Live sessions can be added depending on availability and your needs.
Â
What does a typical month look like?
You’ll receive progressive strength programming tailored to you, regular check-ins, video form reviews, and adjustments as needed. The exact structure is finalized after your Free Assessment.
Â
How do form checks work?
You film your lifts and send them in. I review the videos and give specific feedback on technique, setup, and any modifications needed for your situation.
Â
What equipment do I need?
Access to a basic barbell setup (power rack or squat stands, bench, and plates) is required. Many clients train in commercial gyms. I also provide guidance for home gym situations. There’s an Equipment page with recommendations if you’re building one out.

Adaptive-Specific Questions
Â
Can you help me learn to squat and deadlift with a prosthetic leg?
Yes — this is one of the main reasons I started coaching. I’ve had to figure out these lifts myself and can help you develop safe, effective technique for your specific setup.
Â
What if I’m worried about residual limb issues, skin breakdown, or prosthetic discomfort while training?
We factor this in from the beginning. Programming, volume, and exercise selection can be adjusted to protect your residual limb and keep training sustainable.
Â
Do you work with other types of impairments besides lower-limb differences?
Yes. As long as strength training is appropriate and we can safely progress you, I’m open to working with a range of adaptive needs. We can discuss this during the Free Assessment.

Â
Getting Started & Logistics

What’s included in the Free Assessment?
A conversation about your background, goals, current training, any limitations or prosthetic considerations, and whether we’re a good fit to work together. There’s no obligation.
Â
How much does coaching cost?
Pricing is a flat rate for everyone. It currently costs $250Â $150/month.
Â
How long do most people stay in the program?
There’s no forced long-term contract. Most clients stay as long as they’re making progress and finding value. We reassess regularly.
